ANAM CARA CENTRE
Background
In the book, ‘Anam Cara - Spiritual Wisdom from the Celtic
World’, by the late John O’Donohue, John explains:
“In the Celtic tradition, there is a beautiful understanding of
love and friendship. One of the fascinating ideas here is the
idea of Soul love; the old Gaelic term for this is anam cara.
Anam is the Gaelic word for Soul and cara is the word for
friend. So anam cara in the Celtic world was the Soul friend. In
the early Celtic Church, a person who acted as a teacher,
companion or Spiritual guide was called an anam cara. Anam cara
was originally someone to whom you confessed, revealing the
hidden intimacies of your life. With the anam cara, you could
share your innermost self, your mind and your heart. This
friendship was an act of recognition and belonging. When you had
an anam cara, your friendship cut across all convention,
morality and category. You were joined in an ancient and eternal
way with the ‘friend of your soul.”
Is it any wonder the title Anam Cara was chosen?
About The Centre
Initially created as a Spiritual Development Centre providing
attendees with a series of exercises to promote and provoke
their innate Intuitive/Psychic/Clairvoyant abilities, Anam Cara
is now more a Clairvoyant Development Centre for up and coming
Mediums. Mediumship is an art that can only be developed
by doing, so the last Wednesday of every month Donna and
designated developing Mediums host a night of Clairvoyance, or
Donna will conduct exercises to get attendees kick-started into
bringing the inner of them out!
All are welcome, all you have to do is turn up. Anam Cara
was created to promote an environment of love, healing,
understanding and encouragement.
What Happens
The doors open at 7.00pm, so if you would like some healing you
will need to get in early. The evening commences at 7.30pm
and is carried out by Donna and a few up and coming Mediums or
just Donna.
It is not important why people attend; it is just enough
that they do. We at Anam Cara have no intention to coerce,
convert or conscript. We do not offer any religious teaching. It
is our intention that you discover you, empower yourself and
meet with people of like minds. Who knows - you might even find
your Anam Cara! Donna
